Study on the E-Commerce Activities of Individuals in the Philippines

Part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set by the United Nations is to build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation. This goal aims to build a physical and technological environment that can accommodate the rapid and continuous progress of the global economy. With the constant innovation aiming towards sustainable industrialization, a digital economy has emerged together with its business models, such as e-commerce. In the Philippines, despite the advancement of technology and continuous internet usage by many Filipinos, data on e-commerce activities remains lacking. A survey was conducted to assess the degree of penetration of e-commerce in the country. This study aims to provide information about the e-commerce activities of Filipinos, which would help in monitoring and discerning the level of access and readiness of the Philippines to the changes brought by the digital economy.
