Author: Shushimita G. Pelayo, Ann D. Umadhay
Abstract:
Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges we are facing today. This poses a serious threat as it affects not only our environment but the daily lives of mankind as well. Thus, it is imperative to alleviate the negative effects of climate change to ensure a safe, better, and more sustainable future. This may be addressed by achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 as it seeks to “take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts”. To illustrate the country’s current progress toward accomplishing SDG 13, this scoping study is primarily focused on gathering information on the Tier II and Tier III indicators. This study also examines the country’s available data sources and methodology and looks for potential data gaps through a review of related literature and consultations with various stakeholders concerning SDG 13. Ultimately, this study recommends priority indicators that are feasible for more extensive methodological research
