Abstract:
s who committed to the Agenda for Sustainable Development to Transform Our World by 2030. One of the SDGs is Indicator 3.9.2 – Mortality Rate Attributed to Unsafe Water, Unsafe Sanitation, and Lack of Hygiene. Classified as Tier I globally, this indicator is yet to be included in the Philippines’ SDG Watch. This study aimed to propose a methodology for the Philippines to estimate SDG Indicator 3.9.2 that is applicable to the Philippines. Using the global framework for measuring mortality attributable to unsafe WASH, it illustrates that data are available in the Philippines to measure Indicators 3.9.2 at the national level and for its regions by sex and by age. The study also notes a substantial decrease in mortality due to unsafe WASH from 2016 to 2019.
